The New Face Of HUNGER
With the economic crisis of late, more and more clients coming to pantries or eating at soup kitchens are working full or part-time. These people are reaching out for help for the first time in their lives after seeing a reduction in their hours or the loss of a second income in their household. These are often hard-working people who simply cannot make ends meet and are forced to go without food for several meals, or even for days. Most of us simply have no idea. But we have the opportunity to help our neighbors in need.
What’s Happening Now
We just received a $500 donation from Danville’s newest business: Liquor Barn! Thank you for your partnership, Liquor Barn staff!
SOUP KITCHEN IS OPEN! If you are hungry and in need of a hot meal, come down to Harvesting Hope Mondays-Thursdays from 4:00p-5:30p and Fridays from 1:00p-2:30p. If you want to volunteer or bring food, come on down during those times! God bless you all.
Big Thank Yous to our community partners at WalMart, Save-A-Lot, and Food Lion who are selling bags of food and donating them to us! It is a tremendous help! And thank you to those of you in the community who are purchasing those bags!
